Before you ask —
How is membership different from a normal private GP visit?
Pay-as-you-go works well for one-off problems. Membership suits people who want an ongoing relationship with a clinic — predictable monthly cost, easier access, continuity with a team that already knows your history, and 15% off everything that isn’t already included in your plan. It rewards using us as your regular clinic rather than a one-time service.
Is care virtual, in person, or both?
Both — and that’s a deliberate difference between us and virtual-only services. Essential is built around video consultations. Signature and Concierge add face-to-face appointments at our Aldgate East clinic (97–99 Whitechapel Road), and Concierge can also include visits to your home or office. You choose what suits each situation.
Do I only see a GP, or can I access specialists?
Both. We’re a full clinic, not a GP-only service. Signature and Concierge members get priority access to our in-house consultants and specialists — cardiology, gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, urology, dermatology and more — coordinated by your membership team rather than left for you to chase.
How does the 15% member discount work?
As a member you get 15% off every other service at the clinic that isn’t already part of your plan — including laboratory tests and imaging, as well as minor surgery, aesthetics and specialist consultations. The discount applies to our standard clinic list prices and can’t be combined with other offers.
Does this replace my NHS GP?
No. Membership is a private service that complements your NHS care — it doesn’t replace it. We don’t issue NHS prescriptions or make NHS referrals, and we recommend you stay registered with an NHS GP. With your consent, we can share relevant information with your NHS GP so your care stays joined up.
Can you arrange prescriptions and referrals?
Yes. We issue private prescriptions and can coordinate pharmacy collection. If you need a specialist or hospital that we don’t provide in-house, we’ll arrange a private referral and help coordinate it. Your membership team follows up on results and keeps everything in one place.
What about emergencies and out-of-hours care?
Membership is not an emergency service. For anything life-threatening call 999 or go to A&E; for urgent but non-emergency concerns, NHS 111 is available 24/7. Concierge members have extended priority access during our opening hours, but for genuine emergencies you should always use NHS emergency services.
Can I add my partner or children?
Yes. Prices shown are per adult, and we offer family cover for partners and children — just tell us who you’d like to include and we’ll put together a combined quote. Children under 18 living at the same address can be added to a family plan.
Monthly or annual — and can I cancel?
You choose. Monthly billing has no lock-in and you can cancel any time. Paying annually saves you the equivalent of two months. There are no joining fees and no exit fees — full terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
Is membership the same as health insurance?
No. It’s a service membership — a monthly fee for defined access to our clinic — not insurance, and it doesn’t cover treatment elsewhere. We do recognise the major insurers (Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva and others) separately for eligible services if you also hold a policy.
